I understand that it will throw some people off, but I find it really cool, un-corny, and un-boring. What I really like about Dean Koontz novels are the adept description of its heroes' (and in this case, of the villain's as well) thought process as they do the things that will get them out of the tight spot they were thrown in. "This wasn't as scary as I expected it to be, unlike The Taking. as moment by moment, the terrifying threat of Edgler Foreman Vess intensifies. Driven by a newly discovered thirst for meaning beyond mere self-preservation, Chyna musters every inner resource she has to save an endangered girl. At first her sole aim is to get out alive-until, by chance, she learns the identity of Vess’s next intended victim, a faraway innocent only she can save. Chyna is trapped in his deadly orbit.Ĭhyna is a survivor, toughened by a lifelong struggle for safety and self-respect.
